Class Description: Ready to grow your me-made wardrobe? Whether you’re starting fresh or adding the perfect pair of pants to your handmade capsule, this beginner-friendly garment construction class with Malinda will help you sew a stylish, comfortable wardrobe staple you’ll want to wear all season.
This class uses the approachable June Pants pattern from Helen’s Closet. With a relaxed fit, flattering drape, and endless styling options, these pants can be dressed up for work, worn casually with sneakers, or paired with your favorite handmade top. The included printed and digital pattern also features a shorts option, so you can keep sewing long after class ends.
Over three sessions, you’ll learn how to read and interpret a garment pattern, lay out and cut fabric efficiently, insert an elastic waistband, and make simple length adjustments for a customized fit. We’ll also cover tips for choosing fabrics, pairing colors, and styling your finished garment so it feels completely you.
This is a fun, supportive, and empowering class for confident beginners, returning sewists, or anyone who wants to turn their sewing skills into wearable clothes. By the end, you’ll have one finished pair of pants, the pattern to make more, and the skills to keep building the wardrobe you’ve always wanted.
This class will run with 3+ participants.
PLEASE NOTE: While no garment experience is required, if you have never used a sewing machine before and are feeling nervous or stressed about using one for the first time, please consider taking our Sewing Machine Confidence Builder prior to this class, or get in touch for a private one-on-one lesson.
