Sewcial Club: Holiday Edition - Foundation Paper Piecing

Class Length: 3.5 hours

Class Cost: $68

Are Materials Included? Yes. Fabric, patterns, card inserts, envelopes, and all the sewing tools and supplies you'll need will be provided, and if you have festive scraps to share, please feel free!

Class Description:  Sure, you could buy a box of holiday cards at the store–but where’s the fun in that? We’re combining a little foundation paper piecing, a little holiday cheer, and a whole lot of creative fun into one cozy afternoon. Whether you’re here to learn something new, put your skills to good use, or just make something adorable with fellow makers, there’s a seat at the table for you.  Bring a friend or make a friend (please don't take a friend without consent).

In this 3.5 hour workshop, we’ll be using foundation paper piecing (FPP) to create festive fabric designs that we’ll turn into adorable handmade greeting cards. Never tried paper piecing before? No problem! We’ll teach you everything you need to get started. Already know your way around FPP? Grab a pattern, settle in, and enjoy some creative time with fellow makers! We’ll have a variety of patterns to choose from, ranging from beginner-friendly pine trees to more intricate designs, so you can pick a project that suits your experience and interests–or go crazy and make your own!

This class is part workshop, part social gathering, and entirely about having a good time. Depending on your experience and the patterns you choose, you’ll make one or two handmade holiday cards to take home, ready to send to someone special or keep for yourself (we don’t judge).

This class will run with 3+ participants.

Students should know how to operate and sew fabric using a sewing machine, but no prior experience with paper piecing is required. If you have never used a sewing machine before or are feeling stressed or nervous about using one, please consider taking our Sewing Machine Confidence Builder prior to this class or get in touch for a private one-on-one lesson.
